France 2019: Super Falcons bounce back, defeat South Korea 2-0

After a very poor performance in their first match of the ongoing FIFA Women World cup in France where they were beaten by three goals to nothing by Norway, the Nigeria Super Falcons bounced back from the defeat to beat South Korea 2-0 their second match of the world cup played on Wednesday.

The victory means that the Nigeria senior women team now have their destine in their hand as they seek to qualify to the next round of the world cup when they meat host country, France in the last group match of the world cup.

Falcons first goal came in the 29 minutes when South Korean defender Kim Doyeon volleyed the ball into her own neat following strong pressure by striker Desire Oparanozie.

Barcelona’s striker Asishat Oshoala scored a beautifully taken solo goal in the second half after a counter-attack by the team.

The Nigeria Super Falcon would only be gunning for a draw when they meat France to ensure qualification to the next round..
