Blueprint Online Editor’s father for burial March 5

Former religious and community leader Pastor Kanayo Jeremiah Okonkwo will on Thursday March 5, 2020 be lowered to the ground in his home town Nibo of Awka South local government area in Anambra state.

A press statement issued by the first son of the deceased, Comrade Ikenna Okonkwo, Editor Online Blueprint Newspapers, Monday indicates that the burial of late Pa Kanayo who died on January 16 this year after a protracted illness, would begin with a service of songs on Wednesday night.

According to him, all is now set for the final burial of his late father with members of Living Faith Church leading other mourners to his ancestral home.

He said that condolence by relatives, friends and other well wishers will continue shortly after interment later on Thursday to Friday, before a thanksgiving service on Sunday inside Winners chapel in Nibo.

On the life and times of Pastor Kanayo, Ikenna, also a veteran Sports editor described his late father as a courageous man who left remarkable legacies while alive.

“My father was a bridge-builder and exceptional in his endeavours. His death has remained shocking to the entire family. We only believe God to continuously give us the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” Ikenna who is also the Secretary of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in the Federal Capital Territory said.

Late Kanayo was survived by his wife, seven children, seven grandchildren, In-laws, a brother and sister as well as other relatives.
