Stake holders are beginning to express fear over the standard of the cement produced by LafargeHolcim, owners of Ashaka Cement, and three other cement producing plants in Nigeria, with allegation that the company is currently producing a brand of darkened cement with raw material containing injurious substance considered harmful to both the workers and users alike.

A stake holder, who for very obvious reason did not want his name on print told www.theajasanews.com that not a few trailer loads of products have been recalled for poor quality which an inquest conducted revealed that a quality control manager, with active connivance of some group in the company was doctoring reports of raw materials.

Available information revealed further that the said manager was transferred to Calaber when eyebrows were raised . The quality control manager has since been hibernating at the Calaber Plant while awaiting redemption by a rogue boss that would have need for his devious skill. It is the LafargeHolcim way

“It’s rather more unfortunate that many members of the group, considered untouchables are still active in the system, undermining the processes and system,”

Theajasanews.com investigation, revealed that the Ashaka Plant politics is driven by religious and ethnic affiliations and there are still a close knit group , sworn to secrecy and have continued to preserve their hold on the reigns of power and influence.

“Here, outsiders are treated as sore thumbs. The plant processes have been greatly compromised as a result, affecting product standards and causing disaffection with customers.

“The  system of LafargeHolcim in Nigeria is greatly compromised. Those with sanctioning powers have relinquished their hold for self preservation. Investors capital, contractors investment and other assets, intellectual and otherwise have been compromised. It is a sad commentary for a company that has affected many lives positively and remain source of pride for many.

“The owners of the company may consider dismantling the house of fraud, if they are to achieve their dream of building beautiful cities,” the concerned stakeholder maintained.
