2019 National Athletics Trials: 200m champion, looks forward to upstaging Okagbare

Favor Offili Chukwuka who won the 200 meters event at the just concluded 2019 National Athletics trials with so much ease has stated that she looks forward to upstaging Nigeria reigning 100 and 200 meters champion, Blessing Okagbere when they meet any time soon at any major championship.

In a chart with www.theajasanews.com[1], Favor who won the 200m in a time of 23.23seconds however acknowledged that she still has a lot of work to do to place her in a pole position to beating the best in Africa.  

She stated that she has always admired Blessing Okagbere while coming up and really look forward to racing against her, “Blessing Okagbare is my role model, but I think if I have the chance to run against her I will beat her,”

Since emerging in the scene in 2017, Favor has been winning medals for her state, and the Nation, “I won the gold medal in the 400 meters event at the u-15 in Algeria and also at Abidjan championship I won gold medal at the 400m and 200m at the U-17 category. My target is to win the gold medal in 400m and 200m event at the All Africa Games,”

The Delta state born Athlete expressed her desire to move over to the United State of America while revealing the efforts she is putting in to achieving that ambition.

“My main target is to run the required time for me to get scholarship to study in the U.S. I am working hard to make the 22 seconds timing in the 200m and 50 seconds timing in the 400m to make the qualification for the scholaship,”

The young Nigeria Athlete who began professional Athletics in 2017 attributes her speeding progress to her coach and God, “I really have a lot of work to do but with God and the help of my coach I can achieve my goal. I began professional race in December, 2017 that was when I knew I am really good in Athletes,” she said.
