2019 YSM Abuja School Games: Schools declare readiness

Barely a week to the commencement of the maiden edition of the YSM Abuja School Games billed to hold at the Moshood Abiola stadium, Abuja, participating schools have been putting finishing touches to their training programs ahead of the Games.

According to the organizers of the event, they noted that 17 Abuja schools have confirmed their participation for the Games that would feature some of the best private schools in the Nation’s Federal Capital Territory.

Chief Executive Officer of the YSM Abuja school Games, Yinka Sulieman noted that with the level of preparation they have put in, the schools are earnestly looking forward to the Games.

She stressed that on their part, preparation has been in top gear towards organising and hosting one of the best school Games in Nigeria, stressing that it has been several weeks of day and night preparation to ensure that the entire Game is well delivered.

“I can tell you that the schools are really looking forward to the Games to begin. We have been monitoring their preparations, we have gone round some of the school to see how far they are going with their preparations and I can tell you that we are really impressed with what we saw.

“What I can assure you is that we are going to have a first class organization and a very competitive school Games. It has been weeks and months of preparation for these Games. I can’t even wait for it to commence, I am so excited about it,” she said.

Yinka said the participating schools are, Total Child Model School, TopHill Schools, Nigeria Ghana International, Center Emirates International, Glisten International, Unique Blossom School and Dovland High School.

The rest are Britarch Schools, Bankys Private School, Joseph Jorin Intern, Devine Mercy Schools, Salbasi Agape International Academy, Capville Schools, Louisville Girls Secondary School, Pace Setters Collage and Footsteps International.

Yinka also revealed that as part of the countdown activities for the Games, representatives of the participating schools would embark on a tour of the facilities of the Moshood Abiola stadium, venue of the Games on Monday.
