The Corps Marshal has commended the Nigeria Police Force for its swift and coordinated investigative efforts following the recovery of dismembered human remains suspected to be those of the missing FRSC staff, SRC OO Lasisi (PIN C-06239). The remains were recovered by the Osun State Police Command from a river near Iwoye-Ijesa on Monday, 17 November 2025. While expressing deep sorrow over this tragic development, the Corps Marshal also commiserated with the bereaved family and prayed earnestly for the safe return of the missing child.

The discovery was formally communicated to the Sector Commander by the DCP CID, Osun State Police Command, in the early hours of Tuesday, 18 November 2025. Consequently, the Sector Commander met with the Commissioner of Police to obtain a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing investigation.

According to the Police, extensive surveillance, phone tracking and coordinated intelligence operations led to the arrest of an herbalist in Iloko-Ijesa after he initially fled Iwoye-Ijesa. During interrogation, the suspect claimed that the deceased officer was allegedly lured, killed, dismembered, and her remains disposed of by one “Victor” and other accomplices still at large.

The Police further disclosed that Victor, who was reportedly in a relationship with the deceased, attempted to mislead investigators by abandoning his vehicle along the Gbongan–Ibadan expressway to give the false impression of a kidnapping. The herbalist also alleged that Victor retrieved the missing child from his residence; sadly, the girl has yet to be found.

The recovered remains have been deposited at the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital mortuary, while the Police have requested a post-mortem examination and DNA analysis to confirm identity. Accordingly, the Corps has contacted the husband of the deceased, currently residing in the United States, to facilitate the forensic procedures.

Expressing profound grief over the development, the Corps Marshal stated: “This is a devastating and heartbreaking loss for the Corps. We commend the Nigeria Police Force for their swift investigative efforts and extend our deepest condolences to the family of SRC OO Lasisi. We pray earnestly that the missing child is found safe and reunited with her loved ones.”

The Federal Road Safety Corps and the Nigeria Police Force urge anyone with useful information to contact the Osun State Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit or the FRSC Osun Sector Command.

Further updates will be communicated as the investigation progresses.
