According to a video that was shared by the official page of Gistreel on social media, a young boy was caught stealing a new iPhone on a CCTV footage in an unknown phone store. The video showed the moment the young boy picked a new iPhone from the shelf and kept in his pocket while the sales girl was trying to sell him another phone.
Sadly the sales girl did not notice that the young Man had stolen the iPhone before he left the store. Luckily for the store owner the CCTV camera was at the right place and it captured the young man’s face properly, hopefully he gets caught and is made to pay for his crime. Here are a few lessons to learn;
1. Store owners should try and employe a security Man that would monitor the CCTV camera through out the day. The problem most people have is the fact that they put CCTV cameras in their shops for fancy, they don’t even go through it except for emergency and it would be too late by then.
There’s no point in having a CCTV camera if nobody would watch and monitor the videos. This mistake alone has caused alot of shop owners to lose huge amounts of money. Hopefully this video would serve as a lesson and people would start employing those in charge of watching the CCTV footage.
2. Shop owners should also teach their sales girls or boys how to be vigilant. They should not let anything distract them while talking to a customer. If possible the customer should be asked to wait at the counter while the sales person attends to him. This way the movement of the customer would be monitored properly.
The sales person can help move around and attend to the customer at the counter, this will help reduce the amount of theft in the store.
The sales person should understand that not everyone that comes into a store are there for business. Most people came to steal and defraud anyone they find gullible. Incidents like this have happened many times in the past.
3. If it would be difficult for one sales person to monitor a customer to avoid theft, two sales person should be made to watch over the customer. That way the customer would not have any chance to steal from the store because he knows he is being watched.
