It is indeed surprising to see two conjoined twins with just a single body living a normal life many years after their birth. This is the story of Abigail and Brittany Hensel. These women are from the United States of America, where they still live till today. Abigail and Brittany were born conjoined on the 7th of March 1990.

Doctors suggested that they should be separated, but that only one of the babies was going to survive. Mike and Patty, the twin’s parents rejected the suggestion, they wanted their two girls to live. This was how the idea of surgery was abandoned forever.

Many years after birth, the twin sisters have been living life the best way they can. They can drive a car, ride a bicycle and even operate a Computer keyboard perfectly. These things they could do well have remained a mystery to doctors.

Since each twin controls one side of their body, it was expected that there would be inconsistency in the handling of their daily tasks. Surprisingly, the twin sisters could do all these things with well-defined coordination between each other.

Despite this limiting condition, Abigail and Brittany were able to attend school. They graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul in 2012.

A closer review of their condition showed that these twin sisters do not share some internal organs, despite their conjoinment. They have separate hearts, separate lungs and stomachs. However, they share the same intestines, an enlarged liver and the organs in the Pelvic region.

The twin sisters have appeared on shows in the United States. They also launched their show many years ago. The first episode of their show was aired on the 28th of August 2012.

Abigail and Brittany have been living peacefully despite their condition. They have been able to do things together without much effort. These twin sisters proved that it is possible to live a normal life as conjoined twins, but of course, the type of conjoinment matters in this case. I believe the two sisters are able to get along fine because they were conjoined on their medial sides.
