A new online platform tagged ‘Football Fans Arena’ (FFA) where football fans all over the world, Nigeria in particular can interact was unveiled Tuesday in Abuja with organizers saying the platform is built with the intention to help popularize Nigeria football.
Addressing the media on the reason for the creation of the platform, veteran Journalist and ace broadcaster, Ernest Osogbue who spoke on behalf of the organizers noted that it is their own way of contributing to the football development of Nigeria.
He maintained that the platform is one of a kind in Nigeria and Africa while calling on football fans in the continent to support the platform to succeed.
He said, “Africa has always been dependant on what the European or Americans do. I and my colleagues have been working together on this project. They are software engineers doing jobs for foreign companies, American companies, Kenyan companies, South Africa companies over the years.
“So, along the way they discovered that football actually brings unity to Nigerians, and that football has four billions persons who are interested in it as a business and watching it across the world.
“And so, based on that they created this thing that we call ‘Football Fans Arena’ where football fans from Nigeria can meet. And then we discovered that it’s not just about Nigeria alone, that football is a global event. It’s somewhere all football lovers across the world can meet as a football fan arena around the world. And why we called you here is to show it to you that, this thing is a made in Nigeria project- from start to finish, and it’s going to help our football to be popular around the world.
“What we now did again is to incorporate other football across the world that Nigerians loves too, so that it can be a total package. You can play there the same way you play in other social media platform. But the difference here is that this is our own. For the first time we are creating something that we can give to the world, that they will know that from Nigeria we can create something which the whole world can be a part of it,” Osogbue concluded.
Going through the football fans arena platform, the platform takes you through a variety of interactive features like live match updates, fan discussions and numerous football content to help the fans enhance their football experience.
