The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has approved the redeployment of senior officers across the country in a move aimed at strengthening the Corps’ operations and boosting service delivery.

The latest postings, which affect the Corps Secretary, four Assistant Corps Marshals (ACM), several Sector Commanders, and 61 other Corps Commanders, are part of what the FRSC leadership described as efforts to “reinvigorate the operations of the Corps and consolidate on its commitment to road safety management in Nigeria.”

At the national headquarters, ACM G. Ntukidem, formerly in charge of Personnel, has been appointed as the new Corps Secretary. Also, ACM J.W. Toby has been moved from Policy Research and Statistics to head RS11HQ Osogbo as Zonal Commanding Officer, while his predecessor, ACM I. Abubakar, takes over as ACM Policy at the headquarters. In the same vein, ACM A.M. Hassan has been redeployed from Manpower Development in Training to lead the Technical Service Department, just as ACM A. Sanusi, who recently concluded a course at the National Defence College, resumes as ACM Manpower Development in Training.

The shake-up also touched several Sector Commands nationwide. Among the changes, CC J.N. Alexander moves from Anambra to Delta State, while CC B. Asekhauno takes over in Anambra. CC Y.T. Etuku has been posted from Kebbi to Kogi, with CC R.M.Z. Abubakar, fsi, replacing him in Kebbi. Others affected include CC D.B. Apaji, now heading Bauchi State, and CC A.P. Longkam, fsi, posted to Yobe State.

In addition, 61 other Corps Commanders were redeployed across various formations, including the National Headquarters, FRSC Academy, Zonal Commands, and special units. Their assignments cut across critical areas such as Operations, Policy, Administration, Logistics, Training, Research, Data Management, and Medical Services.

Corps Marshal Mohammed said the exercise was designed to inject fresh energy into the system and ensure greater efficiency in road safety management. He charged the newly posted officers to justify the confidence reposed in them, while urging motorists to cooperate with the appointees to sustain the campaign for safer highways nationwide.
