……Say Arab league players are good enough for Eagles
Oman based Nigeria attacker, Eto Daniel has showered encomium on the Chairman of the League Management Company, Mallam Shehu Dikko for propelling the Nigeria League in the right direction.
Speaking with www.theajasanews.com in Abuja, Eto noted that he has been so impressed with what he has seen so far in the Nigeria league the last two seasons stressing that whether people like it or not the Kaduna born football administrator has done so well in the running of the league.
“The Nigeria League is actually getting better now and with what I have seen in the past two seasons, and with what Shehu Dikko is doing, honestly, he is really improving our league. The Referees are actually sitting up and it has changed from the past where the home team must always win. And this time around we have been seeing away team coming down to your home and taking points back to their own home and I think it is a very good thing.
Speaking on his sojourn in the Oman league, Eto noted that the league is not as easy as people may want to believe.
“I know a lot of people do look down on some of the Arabic leagues , but the league is very intensive and the fact is that the pressure is always on the professionals to deliver, and if the professional don’t do well and if the team loses they put the whole fault on the professionals. That is exactly what is propelling us to put all our best and give our hundred percent and also see how to always improve our games. Actually, if the professionals are not doing well the whole team will definitely not do well.
He argued further that any player playing in the Oman or any of the Arabian league is good enough to make it in the Super Eagles of Nigeria if invited.
“A player playing in Oman can play very well in the Super Eagles. If they can call Ahmed Musa from Saudi Arabia, I don’t see any reason why they cannot call a player from Oman, and it is unfortunate that the coaches are not looking towards Oman for players to invite to the National Team. The reason is that they believe that there are no good players in Oman league or the Arabian countries. You can’t even see any players playing in the Arabian countries been called to the Super Eagles,” He concluded.
