Customs Kaduna Command Deepens Collaboration with Security Agencies

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kaduna Area Command, has reiterated its commitment to strengthening collaboration and operational synergy with sister security and law enforcement agencies across Kaduna State.

The renewed commitment was underscored during a series of courtesy visits by the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Sa’ad Garba Hassan, to heads of key security agencies in the state. The visits were aimed at reinforcing inter-agency cooperation, information sharing and mutual support in the collective pursuit of national security objectives.

During separate engagements with the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Muhammad Rabiu; the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. ASM Wase; the State Director of the State Security Service (SSS), Mr. Hakeem Abiola fsi; the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna State Command, Corps Commander Tijjani Yusuf; the Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kaduna Zonal Directorate, Mr. Usman Bawa Kaltungo; and the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Comdt Panam Musa Buba, Comptroller Hassan emphasized the strategic importance of sustained cooperation among security agencies.

He noted that the Nigeria Customs Service cannot operate in isolation, particularly in the face of evolving security challenges, smuggling networks, economic sabotage and threats to public safety. According to him, effective collaboration remains critical to achieving intelligence-driven enforcement, enhanced operational success and improved service delivery to Nigerians.

The Customs Area Controller commended the various agencies for their longstanding partnership with the Command, acknowledging their support in joint operations, intelligence exchange, personnel protection and crisis response. He called for the strengthening of existing synergy to ensure seamless cooperation and greater impact in areas of shared responsibility.

In their responses, the heads of the respective agencies applauded Comptroller Hassan for his proactive approach to deepening inter-agency relations. They pledged continued support to the Nigeria Customs Service and expressed readiness to explore new areas of collaboration, enhance intelligence sharing and participate in joint operations aimed at safeguarding national security and economic growth.

Comptroller Hassan further assured that the Kaduna Area Command would continue to pursue partnerships that promote legal trade facilitation, strengthen border management and contribute to the country’s economic stability. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining strong institutional relationships anchored on trust, professionalism and mutual respect.
