The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its drive for enhanced operational capability and global collaboration, following a high-level strategic visit to leading aviation training institutions in London, Ontario.
Leading the delegation, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, visited the International Test Pilots School and the International Tactical Training Centre as part of efforts to strengthen international defence partnerships and adopt global best practices in military aviation.

The visit focused on critical areas of capacity development, including fighter lead-in training, helicopter tactical operations, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) operator training, and advanced flight test programmes. Discussions also covered technical training support, collaborative research initiatives, and opportunities for upgrading and overhauling NAF aircraft.

Air Marshal Aneke reiterated the Air Force’s commitment to operational excellence through strategic alliances with world-class institutions. He noted that the engagement reflects a deliberate effort to boost personnel development, modernise platforms, and enhance overall mission effectiveness.

“The Nigerian Air Force remains resolute in its pursuit of operational excellence through strategic collaboration with globally recognised training institutions,” he said, adding that such partnerships are key to strengthening both human capacity and technological advancement.
The CAS also highlighted plans to develop advanced flight simulator systems tailored to the evolving operational needs of the Service, further reinforcing NAF’s modernization agenda.

Officials of the host institutions commended the Nigerian Air Force for its proactive approach to capability enhancement and expressed readiness to support its transformation efforts. They emphasised that structured cooperation in specialised aviation training and technology integration would promote mutual growth and knowledge exchange.

The visit underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s broader strategic vision to build a technologically driven, highly professional, and globally connected force capable of addressing contemporary security challenges.
