These are indeed not the best of times for former Super Eagles attacker, Samson Siasia and the former player have even declared how frustrated he has become in the face of the current situation he is going through.
Going to about two months now, the former Super Eagles Chief coach mother, Madam Beauty Ogere, was kidnapped from her home at Bayelsa state, and up till this moment every effort to get her released have proved abortive.
Samson Siasia even had to struggled to come up with N1.5 million which was paid to the kidnappers but instead of his mother been released the kidnappers held on to the deliverer of the money,
This was what Siasia told adentesports.com.ng recently on the mother’s kidnap issue, “The situation is pathetic, nothing has changed o. We paid N1.5 million ransom money to the kidnappers and instead of them to release my mother they released my Cousin’s motherin-law (66 year old Florence Donana) and also captured the person that brought the money to them.
“So, as we speak three people are still in kidnappers’ custody, I mean my mother, the young girl and the guy that took the money to them,”
As if that is not enough trouble, just about a month ago, the World Football Governing Body, FIFA slammed a life ban on Samson Siasia as punishment for failing to reply to their inquiries on the investigation of alleged match fixing.
There has been no statement of support from the Nigeria Coaches Association, the Nigeria players Union and even other football stakeholders.
What would have been the sins of Samson Siasia against these people to warrant such total neglect? And what happened to the theory that we rally round our own first even when he may not be in most of our good books just to save him from destruction and after return home to tell him where he had done wrong?
The issue of former Super Eagles assistant coach, Salisu Abubakar who video evidence was said to have caught him in the act come to mind, and how all the Associations were coming out with statements of their support to him. There is serious concern with the double stand and it must be looked into otherwise we are gradually driving Samson Siasia to destruction.
In Fact the embattled coach has gotten to the stage where he has cried out that, saying “I am just tired, frustrated and confused. I don’t know what else to do again”,
