The Nigeria male volleyball national team departed the shores of the country for Abidjan, venue of the All African games qualifiers slated to begin this weekend.
The team was saw off by International Olympic committee president, Engr Abu Gummel as well as the federation president, Engr Musa Nimrod who were there to motivate and give them words of fatherly advice while encouraging them to go all out to make the country proud.
Gumel e thanked the foreign based amongst them for agreeing to come play for their father land while also assuring the team of adequate incentives for their efforts as the ministry is solidly behind them.
The team made up of fourteen players among them are three foreign based players as well as four officials.
Nigeria will slug it out with six other countries to pick one of the two tickets at stake to qualify for the All African games slated for morocco later this Year.
In his own remark, president of the association Engr Musa Nimrod stated that their goal is to clinch one of the available tickets while declaring that he has strong believe in the capability of the players making the trip.
He also stressed that the presence of the foreign based players would go a long way to spur the rest of the players to give their best. The president equally revealed that the female national team is slated to begin camping in Kaduna next week since the qualifiers is slated to hold in Nigeria.
