Participating schools at the maiden edition of the YSM Abuja School Games have expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation that have been put in place ahead of the Games which is billed to commence this Saturday at the Moshood Abiola stadium, Abuja.
Majority of the participating schools took a tour of the facilities of the stadium on Monday and at the end agreed among themselves that accreditation for the Games should be held on Saturday by 9.00am at the stadium.
They also agreed that all the events for the Games should commence exactly 9.00am with the schools expected to arrive the venue one hour earlier.
Part of the other decisions reached was that all schools participating in the racket events should come along with their rackets as the organizers would not be providing any.
Other rules relating to the balls events were released to the schools and agreements were reached.
The organizers also pleaded with the school’s management to encourage the parents of the participating students to attend the opening ceremony which is scheduled to hold at the velodrome of the stadium.
The organizers noted that all events will be coordinated by the National federation bodies, maintaining that the standard rules will be strictly adhered to.
They cuationed that any school or athlete that was not captured during the accreditation will not later be allowed in the course of the tournament, except on the condition of illness.
