Super Eagles attacker, Moses Simon has said the hosting right given to Egypt for this year’s Africa cup of Nations makes them a very strong favorite to winning the trophy.
Simon admitted that ordinarily, Egypt is always a very strong contender for the trophy which is evident in the number of time they have won the Africa number one football fiesta. He stressed that playing in front of their home fans would energise and motivate them into striving to winning the tournament again.
Never the less, the Levante FC of Spain attacker noted that other countries like Nigeria can always spring a surprise and mount a big challenge to the trophy.
He argued that with the experience the super Eagles got from the world Cup in Russia, couple with the injection of some new players make the Super Eagles a feared Nation at the AFCON.
“Egypt of a truth poses a big challenge to the rest of the teams coming to the Nation’s cup been the host country, but I can tell you that Nigeria and some other countries should not be written off.
“Our team has gained a lot of experience in the last one year. This will actually go a long way to making us go far in the tournament,” Moss Simon said.
