Following the woeful performance of the Super Eagles in the current world cup qualifying matches, the Chairman, House committee on sports, Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams has advised the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation led by Ibrahim Gusau to be magnanimous enough to throw in the towel.

Ekene who made this known in a statement releases by his media team on Friday, argued that for genuine changes to be achieved in Nigeria sports certain measures must be put in place.

The statement read;

Chairman House committee on Sports, Honourable Ekene Abubakar Adams says something drastic needs to be done to get Nigeria Sports working again, in the face of the current sporting challenges.

There are still uncertainties surrounding if Team Nigeria will have a good performance at next month’s Olympic games in Paris, France and the Nigeria senior National team is currently not doing well after finishing second at the Last AFCON in Ivory Coast.

The Chairman, House Committee on Sports, Honourable Ekene, who represents Chikun/Kajuru Federal constituency, reacting to the recent turn of events insisted that measures must be taken for genuine changes to be effected in Nigeria Sports.

” In civilised World people resign if they are not doing well and we can see with the Dortmund Coach, Edin Terzic, who has just resigned after losing the Uefa Champions league final.Maybe I am the one to even resign because the truth is People must learn how to throw in the towel if results are not good enough because I strongly believe Something must be done”

On if the House Committee on Sports will invite the leadership of the NFF, the lawmaker said ” the Minister of Sports has already invited them and he is in the right direction”.
