The Angwa Bako Community Development Committee (CDC), Orozo, in conjunction with residents of Cajaah Housing Estate, has congratulated the re-elected Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Maikalangu, on his victory at the just-concluded Federal Capital Territory (FCT) area council elections.
The community described the outcome as a clear endorsement of the chairman’s grassroots performance and people-focused leadership. According to details obtained after the vote count yesterday, Hon. Maikalangu secured over 58 per cent of the votes within Orozo Primary School and Angwa Sarki Community wards, underscoring strong local support.
Speaking on behalf of the larger Orozo community, the Chairman of the Angwa Bako Community Development Committee, UGE Marshall, said the margin of victory is particularly significant given the relatively low voter turnout recorded during the election.
“If this level of support could be achieved even at a moment of low turnout, we are confident that the APC will record far stronger numbers in the forthcoming presidential, Senate and House of Representatives elections in 2027,” he stated.
“This serves as confirmation of the firm commitment made by the community leaders to support the re-election of Christopher Zakka Maikalangu following their separate meetings with Hon. Micah Jibba and the Campaign DG, Dr. Williams Gade.”
Marshall further noted that the result reflects growing public confidence in the leadership direction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) within AMAC and the wider Federal Capital Territory.
He assured that the Angwa Bako CDC, working closely with Cajaah Estate residents, will continue to mobilise grassroots support while partnering constructively with the AMAC administration for community development.
The community also offered prayers for the chairman, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength and divine guidance as he begins another term in office.
Political observers say the strong showing in parts of Orozo may serve as an early indicator of party momentum in the FCT ahead of the 2027 general elections.
