APC Presidential Ticket: What Next For Yahaya Bello and Sani Yerima As South Gets Presidential Slot?

It’s no longer news that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially Zoned its 2023 Presidential Ticket to the South. Already, there are Prominent Politicians in the North believed to be nursing a Presidential Ambition under the APC platform. They include, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and a Former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima.

Bello is from the North Central, a Geo-political Zone that has not produced both President and Vice-President since 1999, while Yerima hails from the North-West, the Geo-political Zone of the Incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.

While Yerima had officially announced his Presidential Ambition in December 2020, Yahaya Bello is yet to make an official declaration but he has been endorsed by several Socio-political Groups.

Now that the APC National Working Committee has announced that the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Party ‘ll come from the South, The duo of Bello and Yerima have a slim chance of getting the Party’s Presidential Ticket.
