The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced plans to host a global press conference on Thursday as part of activities leading up to its 2026 National Convention.
The disclosure was made on Tuesday by the Co-Chairman of the convention’s Media and Publicity Committee and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a committee meeting.

According to Idris, the briefing will provide an opportunity for the party to outline its level of preparedness and communicate its expectations for the convention to Nigerians and the international community.
He called on committee members to demonstrate unity and commitment in executing their responsibilities, stressing the need for coordinated messaging to ensure a successful convention. He noted that achieving the party’s communication objectives would require dedication and sacrifice from all members.
The minister also emphasized the importance of sustaining internal democracy within the APC, describing it as a critical element of the party’s identity as Africa’s largest political party. He urged members to uphold democratic values, drawing attention to the President’s record of adherence to internal party processes.
The APC National Convention is scheduled to take place from March 27 to 28, 2026, in Abuja. Idris described the event as a key milestone in strengthening the party’s internal structures and democratic framework.
The meeting was attended by several high-profile party and government officials, including presidential aides and members of the National Assembly, alongside other stakeholders involved in organizing the convention.
