The Nigeria Air Force has stated that they have successfully neutralized an arm bandit hideout in a compound West of Tsamari in Benin Magagi Local Goverment area of Zamfara state during an operation carried out by NAF Air Task Force known as operation DURAN MIKIYA.

According to a statement made available to www.TheAjasaNews.com by NAF Director of Public Relation, Air Commodore, Ibikunle Daramola, he noted that the air raid was carried out following an intelligent report indicating that the compound was been used by the arm bandits as a camp from where they carry out attacks on innocent civilians.

NAF noted that the ATF detailed a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft, which confirmed the presence of bandits armed with high calibre weapons at the location.

Consequently they maintained that an Alpha Jet aircraft was dispatched to strike the compound, recording direct hits on the target area and resulting in significant damage to the structures and neutralization of some bandits, as later confirmed by credible human intelligence sources.

Surface troops was later to have invaded the compound and recovering some motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing criminals.

NAN stressed that ATF, working in concert with surface forces and other security agencies, will continue to conduct reconnaissance and air interdiction missions with a view to restoring normalcy to the affected States in the North West
