Recently, the International Boxing Association, IBA suspended the former president of the Nigerian Boxing Federation, NBF, Lt. General Minimah over attempt to withdraw Nigeria from its membership and enlist her with another boxing body.
Several persons have however doubted if such letter ever existed, with other claiming that IBA whose guideline was used to conduct the election that brought Gen Minimah to power has the right to suspend him.
Another heavy controversy sorrounding Gen Minimah removal is the fact that his tenure had since elapsed. Recall that the former president had spent 13 years as president of the Nigerian Boxing Federation, which run contrary to Article 11.1 of their constitution as approved by IBA.
You may still want to recall that before the election that brought this current board, the then Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare explicitly stated that the six National Sports Federations that have their Constitutions ratified by their International sports bodies and the Nigeria Olympic Committee should conduct their elections based on their respective Constitutions.
Now, to put most of the argument to rest, particularly if IBA indeed suspended Gen Minimah, our correspondent have dug out the suspension letter for the benefit of our esteemed readers.
