The Coalition of Nigeria Youths on Security and Safety Affairs (CONYSSA) has commended the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, for his unwavering commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s national security architecture, fostering civil-military relations, and restoring hope in the nation’s armed forces.

The group described the leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff as “visionary, proactive, and people-focused,” noting that his strategic direction since assuming office has yielded remarkable improvements in joint operations, inter-agency synergy, and intelligence sharing, particularly in the fight against insurgency, banditry, and other emerging threats.

“We are proud of the decisive and gallant posture of our armed forces under the command of General Musa. He has redefined military professionalism and discipline while ensuring troops are properly motivated and equipped to execute their duties across various theatres of operation,” the statement reads.

CONYSSA emphasized the significance of ongoing operations across the country, particularly in the North-Central and North-West regions, where coordinated efforts by the Armed Forces have led to the neutralization of criminal elements, rescue of kidnapped victims, and recovery of arms and ammunition.

According to the Director General of CONYSSA Amb. Ade Mario Emmanuel , “The Chief of Defence Staff has proven that security leadership requires courage, foresight, and collaboration. He has consistently engaged traditional rulers, youth groups, civil society, and international partners a gesture we believe strengthens national unity and collective security.”

Ade-Mario also acknowledged recent reforms and welfare improvements introduced for troops on the frontlines, describing them as timely and morale-boosting. “A secure nation begins with a well-catered military. We applaud the CDS for ensuring better welfare, training opportunities, and inclusive leadership within the armed forces,” Ade-Mario added.

CONYSSA reaffirmed its support for the Armed Forces of Nigeria and pledged to continue its grassroots sensitization programs to promote safety, vigilance, and peacebuilding across all states.

While urging all Nigerians to support the military in its patriotic duty, CONYSSA called on political leaders, community stakeholders, and religious institutions to prioritize dialogue, intelligence sharing, and youth engagement as critical tools in achieving lasting peace.
