Barely 24 hours after the Electoral Committee chairman, Peter Nelson has confirmed that the 10 National Sports Federations whose Constitutions have been approved by their international bodies would make use of it in Thursday’s election, has allegedly rescinded that decision.
You may recall that Mr Nelson made the statement on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 while briefing the media on the electoral Committee preparation for the national Sports Federations Election
In his words, “The 10 Federations with their constitutions already approved by their international bodies will conduct their elections without any interference”.
But recent development indicated that Nelson has allegedly ordered that the 10 Federations revert to the old constitution with no obvious reasons.
A dependable source disclosed during a hurriedly put together hitherto cancelled zonal elections on Wednesday that they were ordered to revert to the 2021 Electoral Guidelines as approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
All efforts to reach the Electoral Committee chairman, Peter Nelson to seek clarification proved abortive, as he declined all calls and SMS sent to his cell phone.
