The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a stern warning to motorists, urging them to refrain from assaulting FRSC personnel while they carry out their duties.
This warning comes on the heels of a series of attacks on FRSC operatives, who are working tirelessly to ensure road safety during the festive season.
The Corps Marshal emphasized the FRSC’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare and security of its officers, ensuring they can perform their responsibilities without fear of harm. He vowed to intensify efforts towards prosecuting motorists found assaulting FRSC personnel.
The warning is particularly timely, given the ongoing ‘Operation Zero Tolerance to Road Traffic Crashes,’ which started on December 15, 2024, and will run until January 15, 2025. This special patrol operation aims to reduce road traffic crashes during the festive season.
Motorists are advised to cooperate with FRSC personnel and respect their authority, as they work to ensure road safety for all. The FRSC will continue to prosecute perpetrators of assaults on its personnel, emphasizing its commitment to protecting its officers and maintaining road safety.
