Cyprus invitational: Dennerby snubs Alaba, Nwabuoku again, sticks with AWCON squad

Despite pessistent calls from several quarters that more player be invited to the Super Falcon team to make them stronger ahead of their participation at this year FIFA women world cup, Technical adviser of the team, Thomas Dennerby has decided to stick with the same team he paraded at last year Africa women cup of Nations.

The names of former Nigeria number one goalkeeper, Alaba Jonathan and current Nigeria league best midfielder and former captain of the team, Evelyn Nwabuoku were conspicuously missing in the list of players he invited for the Cyprus invitational tournament theajasanews.com gathered.

MIDFIELD

Grace Okoronkwo, Rita Chikwelu, Ngozi Okobi, Halimat Ayinde, Cecilia Nku

ATTACK

Asisat Oshoala, Desire Oparanozie, Anam Imo, Uchendu Chinaza, Rashidat Ajibade, Francisca Ordega, Ihezuo Chinwendu, Alice Ogebe, Umotong Iniabasa and KANU Uchenna.

The 24 players will join 12 other countries including South Africa, Australia foq the ten day football competition.

The Competition is bill to starts on Feb 27 and ends on March 7 in Cyprus.
