Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barr. Solomon Dalung has has finally opened up on why he stopped giving money to the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation under the leadership of Amaju Pinnick in recent times.

The no nonsense Minister noted that the NFF leadership own it as a duty both to the parent ministry and to Nigerians to explain how 1.6 billion Naira that was raised to execute Super Eagles 2018 World Cup participation in Russia was spent.

According to an agency report monitored by www.theajasanews, the minister is demanding for a proper breakdown of how the money was spent in line with the anti corruption agenda of the current Nigeria administration. He maintained that the funds was meant to cover the expenses of the team up to the quarter final stage of the world cup but stated that since the team crashed out at the group stage there should be a balance to be remitted back to the government which he stressed they have not seen.

“We want the NFF to retire this
money. The money was meant for the team right up to the quarterfinals even though they crashed out in the first round.” Dalung explained.

“This has raised questions about credibility of NFF financial spending and government will not release any money to them if proper account can’t be
given,”
