The Delta State Ministry of Information has described the induction of Governor Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori into the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Worldwide Hall of Fameas as a “well-deserved recognition” of the Governor’s leadership acumen and commitment to the progress of Delta State.
In a historic ceremony, Governor Sheriff was inducted into the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Worldwide Hall of Fame, in recognition of his exceptional leadership and contributions to the progress of the Urhobo people and Delta State.
The induction ceremony, which took place at the Urhobo Cultural Centre, was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and prominent Urhobo sons and daughters from around the world.
Governor Oborevwori was also conferred with the prestigious title of “Omorotomo of Urhoboland” by the esteemed Urhobo Traditional Rulers, in appreciation of his tireless efforts to promote the unity and development of Urhoboland.
The Commissioner for Information, Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza in a personal congratulatory message said the award is indeed a testament of the Governors exemplary leadership skills and his unwavering commitment to advancing the Urhobo people and all Deltans.
He said, “The induction ceremony was seen as a significant milestone in Governor Oborevwori’s administration, and a clear indication of his acceptance by the Urhobo people and the wider Delta State community.
Governor Oborevwori has been praised for his efforts to promote peace, unity, and development in Delta State, and his induction into the UPU Hall of Fame is expected to further boost his popularity and credibility among the people,” the statement concluded.
