Director of Federal Capital Territory’s Directorate of Road Traffic Services, DRTS Dr Bello Abdulateef has urged newly promoted officers of the agency to brace up to meet up with the accredited international standard in traffic management to ease transportation in Abuja
Speaking at the rank decoration ceremony of newly promoted senior officers of the organisation, Dr Bello Abdulateef charged the promoted officers to double their efforts and join the on going evolution in road traffic management in the FCT adding that all the officers deserved their promotion
He said the DRTS is an evolving agency with the mantra of making traffic management easy in the Nation’s capital adding that with more senior officers being promoted to the management team, the better for the organisation
“The more men we have in the management team, the more we have credible decisions and evolution of the management. We need the cooperation, synergy and the resourcefulness of all staff to move DRTS forward. We all know that change is difficult but inevitable and it’s not been easy challenge for the leadership of this agency
“At times, if you are the other side of change, you feel it was directed at hurting you but honestly, most of the changes are not designed to hurt anybody but to move DRTS to a new pedestal that of an agency like ours. And this is because if we don’t move, helplessness will move us. So it is always better to confront our challenges. If we dodge, it will overwhelmed us” Dr Bello Abdulateef stated.
Finally, he charged the decorated officers to ready to offer their best to DRTS and join join the evolution adding that they must identify with the vision of making traffic management in the federal capital the envy of their counterparts in other parts of the country
Earlier, the Director of Finance Mrs Eze ego had urged the promoted officers to justify their promotion by re dedicating themselves to hard work, remain focused and be disciplined
She congratulated the officers even he pleaded with them to be good ambassadors of DRTS by applying courtesy and good mannerism in the discharge of their duties.
