African Eagles View Communication, publisher of Eagles View Magazine, has honoured Hon Hassan Baiwa with an award for his outstanding performance in legislative activities. During the virtual award ceremony on Wednesday, Hon Hassan expressed appreciation for the award while acknowledging that he never knew that people were taking note of his efforts.


He promised to continue in the act of touching lives while also assuring to partner with Eagles Magazine.

Hon. Hassan Baiwa Abdullahi was born in the ancient town of Anyigba, the citadel of knowledge, socio-political and economic nerve centre of the Igala Nation.

The vibrant, intelligent, promising and young Baiwa started his early education at Christian Mission in Many Land (CMML) Primary School between 1975 – 1981 where he obtained his First School Living Certificate (FSLC).

He then proceeded to Community Secondary Commercial College Anyigba (CSCC) for his post-primary education from 1982 – 1987. He sat for the West Africa School Certificate Examination (WASC) at the prestigious Government Secondary School (GSS) Dekina and graduated in flying colours.

Despite the not too viable economic status of Anyigba community then, he was offered admission to study Business Administration at the prestigious Federal Polytechnic Idah between 1991 – 1993. Without much ado, he enrolled for his Higher National Diploma in the same institution, being the only respected citadel of learning with academic excellence in the North-Central region between 1994 – 1996.

To further his quest for knowledge, he proceeded to the Bayero University Kano for his post-graduate studies in management in 2000. He had previously in 2004 obtained a Masters Degree from the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

Hon Baiwa always invests time and resources to see to the successful accomplishment of assignments. He has distinguished himself as a man of honor.

The very hardworking and resourceful lawmaker has brought his leadership qualities to bear in governance and it reflects in Okura constituency which he represents in the House of Assembly.

In the course of his duties, Hon Baiwa has raised several motions that would enhance the growth and development of his constituency, the Igala Nation and Kogi State in its entirety. Some of the motions include: addressing the erosion menace in Ogane Aji, Kaduna Efekpe and other suburbs of Anyigba which the state government is already addressing through NEWMAP, construction of Anyigba township road and dualization of Anyigba roundabout to KSU main gate. Already the dualization from Iyale roundabout to Eti-Ukpolo contract has already been awarded with contractors awaiting mobilization.

He also called on the state government to codify the laws made by the Kogi State House of Assembly, raised a motion urging the Ministry of Environment to checkmate the activities of sanitary officers. A House resolution in this regard gave birth to a bill on waste management. He has equally called on the Ministry of Works, Land and Urban Development to check the activities of town planning department and empower the board to carry out its statutory duties effectively and there is also a bill to that effect among so many contributions in the House.

Aside his legislative duties, he was able to embark on the following project and programmes to alleviate the suffering of the people of Okura constituency. He provided 500 desks to schools within his constituency, rehabilitated the administrative block of Community Secondary Commercial College Anyigba and constructed blocks of classrooms at Agala Community Secondary School.

Others are the grading of Okura to Ewune and Ewune to Okagwu roads.

Based on the vital contributions of youth to the socio-economic development of the society, Hon Baiwa has sponsored the employment of youths into various federal ministries and agencies. He also procured 100 enrolment forms into the Nigeria Peace Corps. He empowered over 500 youths of his constituency. He made it possible for a reasonable number of his constituents to begin small scale businesses.

The grassroots mobilizer also gave out recommendation letters for admissions, contract and employment to the people of his constituency. Also, an important step is being taken to address the issue of potable water, hence the construction of 21 boreholes across Okura Constituency.

He also constructed and furnished a clinic at Okura Sawmill, donated 300/33KVA transformers to Anwoku Area 2 and Ojuwo area of Anyigba and Ochaja town.

The amiable lawmaker, who is married with children, is young, vibrant and a philanthropist, he has travelled to several countries in the course of business and professional duties.

Indeed Rt. Hon Hassan Baiwa Abdullahi has put on the garment of honor.
