The recent publication listing the senators with the highest number of bills in the 10th Senate is fake. The publication does not represent the official opinion of the Senate. The omission of Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, the distinguished Senator whose legislative input in the 10th Senate is significant, suggests either a targeted exclusion or an unfortunate oversight. To clarify and rectify this, here are the bills submitted by Senator Ned Nwoko, including their submission dates to the office of the Chairman, senate committee on rules and business:
A Bill for an Act to Repeal the Coroners Act CAP C17 Laws of the Federation, and Re-enact the Coroners System Act and Other Related Matters, 2003. Submitted November 14, 2023.
A Bill for an Act to Establish the Nigerian Youth Entrepreneurship Grant Program with an Agency for Oversight. Submitted November 14, 2023.
Bill for Nigeria Member of the ECOWAS Parliament Elections. Submitted December 1, 2023.
Bill for Factoring Assignments (Establishment, ETC) 2023. Submitted December 4, 2023.
A Bill for an Act to Alter the National Health Act, 2014 (As Altered) to Provide for Mandatory Donor Card and for Related Matters. Submitted December 18, 2023.
A Bill for an Act to Alter the Nigerian Defence Academy Act, CAP 101 (As Altered) to Provide for the Establishment of the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kwale, Delta State and for Related Matters. Submitted December 18, 2023.
A Bill for an Act to Alter the 1999 Constitution (As Altered) to Provide for a Parliamentary System of Government and for Related Matters. Submitted December 20, 2023.
A Bill For an Act to Alter the 1999 Constitution (As Altered) to Provide for Local Government Autonomy and for Related Matters. Submitted December 21, 2023.
A Bill for an Act to Alter the Firearms Act (As Altered) to Provide for Self Defense and Personal Firearm Ownership and for Related Matters. Submitted February 7, 2024.
A Bill for an Act to Alter the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, NO. 7 to Prohibit the Discriminatory Use of Foreign Currency Payment for Remuneration and for Matters Connected Therewith. Submitted February 26, 2024.
The bills are at various stages of the legislative process. Senator Nwoko’s legislative record speaks for itself and merits outstanding recognition.
This rejoinder seeks to ensure a comprehensive and accurate representation of all senators who are actively contributing to the legislative process.
