The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) marked its 37th anniversary on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, with celebrations held across its formations and national headquarters in Abuja.

In his address, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed expressed gratitude to the founding fathers of the FRSC, who envisioned a safer and more responsible road culture in Nigeria. He acknowledged the significant transformations the Corps has undergone, expanding from 16 Sector Commands to 37, and from 5 Zonal Commands to 12.

Mohammed highlighted the Corps’ achievements in reducing road crashes and promoting road safety awareness. He attributed the success to sustained efforts in enforcing traffic laws, conducting public enlightenment campaigns, and collaborating with stakeholders.

The Corps Marshal honored outstanding contributors to road safety, including the Ford Foundation Group, World Bank, Lions Club, and Matrix Petroleum. Individuals recognized for their contributions included President Court of Appeal Justice Monica Bolna’an Dongban-Mensem and former governors Ifeanyi Okowa, Sullivan Iheanacho Chime, and Simon Bako Lalong.

Mohammed emphasized the Corps’ commitment to leveraging technology, harmonizing Marshals’ ranking, and establishing electronic documents to improve operational efficiency. He also announced plans for a home-grown Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) to provide affordable healthcare services to personnel and their families.

The Corps Marshal expressed gratitude to stakeholders, including the federal government, state governments, and the private sector, for their support and collaboration. He commended FRSC personnel for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence.
