The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has welcomed the endorsement of the federal government’s Three Million Technical Talent Initiative (3MTT) initiative by the European Union and the World Bank.

The group, in a statement signed by its Chairman Chukwudi Enekwechi, described it as an affirmation of the administration’s quest to upscale the technical skills of young Nigerians.

“Like the EU and World Bank, we at the Tinubu Media Volunteers believe that the programme, whose primary objective is to train three million young people in key technical skills by the year 2027, is novel and commendable.

“Going by the vision of the President, the programme would build a robust digital workforce to power Nigeria’s economy and position the country as an exporter of human capital in technical talents.

“We note that if Mr President’s vision is followed through, Nigeria will emerge as one of the world’s largest talent accelerators, such as India and South Africa.

“We therefore commend the Minister of Communications. Innovation and Digital Economy, Mr Bosun Tijani, for working assiduously towards actualizing President Tinubu’s vision of upscaling the country’s human capital development through the creation of one million technical jobs.

“For the avoidance of doubt, this is an initiative conceived by the Tinubu Administration aimed at equipping Nigerian youths with digital skills, thereby opening global job opportunities for them.

“We also acknowledge that the initiative has the potential of making Nigeria a hub for human assets, especially in the digital aspect. This will be further realized and impactful as all federal government science and technical colleges are now tuition-free, while their graduates will be equipped with necessary skills,” the statement added.

The group urged Nigerian youths to take advantage of the initiative to improve their technical skills.
