It appears that all the underground moves by the incumbent president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick not to have the NFF election hold this year seems to have failed.

Information reaching the news desk of www.theajasanews.con has it that the NFF Elections will now hold on September 21. According to a source, the date is expected to be ratified at the Emergency General Assembly holding in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on August 16. “the statutes will be amended on that day, and the Electoral Committee and Appeal Committee will be put in place. They will call for indication of interest and screening of candidates within 2 weeks and elections held on 21 September” Our source concluded

Again, Amaju Pinnick third term ambition seems to have suffered another knock at the weekend, when some Northern Caucus of the Federation who gathered in Kano decided not to support the ambition of the President.

The Northern caucus is vowing to return the NFF Presidency to the North despite occupying the position from 1993 to 2014.

The Stakeholders we gathered were all totally opposed to Pinnick continuing as NFF President. The group however resolved to support only a Northern candidates for the position. They vowed to resist any attempt by the incumbent NFF President to perpetuates himself in office

The group agreed on the possibility of having a consensus candidate from the North, as the days draws nearer and things became clearer.
