The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has extended the end-of-year nationwide monitoring of major highways to Kaduna State, intensifying efforts to ensure free traffic flow and reduce road crashes during the festive season. The Kaduna assessment followed the Corps Marshal’s earlier on-the-spot monitoring of the Abuja–Lokoja highway, where his intervention led to the immediate deployment of additional personnel to clear traffic congestion and restore smooth vehicular movement.
In Kaduna, the FRSC boss personally supervised traffic operations across key routes, insisting on strict adherence to traffic regulations. Enforcement teams, under his watch, intensified surveillance, resulting in the apprehension of several overloaded vehicles and other traffic violators.
The extended monitoring exercise underscores the Corps Marshal’s hands-on leadership style and the Corps’ zero-tolerance stance against traffic infractions, particularly at a time of increased vehicular movement associated with end-of-year travels.
Motorists were strongly advised to obey traffic rules, avoid overloading, and cooperate fully with FRSC officers on duty. The Corps stressed that sustained compliance with traffic regulations remains critical to reducing crashes, saving lives, and guaranteeing safer highways across the country.
