The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a stern warning to motorists to desist from attempting to bribe its personnel when arrested for violating traffic regulations. The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, emphasized that FRSC has a zero-tolerance policy for bribery and corruption, and any motorist found attempting to bribe its personnel will be arrested and prosecuted.
According to Mohammed, all fines generated through patrol operations are paid into the Treasury Single Account, and motorists are advised to comply with the law and pay their fines to designated banks. The Corps Marshal also warned FRSC personnel against demanding bribes from motorists and urged the public to report any operative seen requesting bribes.
Motorists can report such incidents through various channels, including the FRSC website, mobile app, Flag-It anti-corruption app, and social media handles. The FRSC remains committed to upholding the law and maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
The public is advised to comply with all traffic regulations on the movement of persons, animals, and goods on Nigerian roads. The FRSC commends citizens who have regularly reported misconduct involving operatives without resorting to violence
