Dozens of indigenous Igbo Muslims observed Eid-el-Kabir prayer in the Alor-Agu community in the Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The pictures from the Eid prayer were posted on Twitter by another Igbo Muslim, Uthman Isa Tochukwu.

Tochukwu said that there are thousands of indigenous Igbo Muslims in the South East region. He argued that the majority of them are Muslims by birth and not revertees. He promised to make a documentary about Igbo Muslims living in the South East.

The South East is dominated by Christians. It is unbelievable that significant numbers of indigenous Igbo Muslims can be found in the region.

The pictures posted on Twitter have generated different reactions on social media. Many users argue that many of the worshippers are not indigenous people but non-indigenes living in the area.

Others said there are indigenous Igbo Muslims in the South East, but they are a tiny minority.
