Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega has reacted to the nomination of Madam Lauretta Onochie by President Buhari.
Prof. Jega blasted the President for the choice of Lauretta Onochie as a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He requested the Senate to halt the confirmation of Madam Onochie.
Recall that on Thursday, Lauretta Onochie appeared before the Senate Committee on INEC for screening, where she denied she is a member of the ruling APC.
The Senate Committee on INEC, will submit their screening report to the Senate chambers on Thursday, this week.
The panel screened Lauretta Onochie, the Special Assistant to President Buhari on Social Media and five others for the offices of INEC National Commissioners.
The nomination of Lauretta Onochie by the President did not go down well with Nigerians, most especially the opposition Party and even some members of the APC.
