By Benjamin Omoike……..Lagos state Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Arc. Ahmed Kabiru Abdullahi has said that to further reduce the inherent housing and land deficit in the State and in tandem with the second pillar of the ’THEME’ Agenda, preparatory works will soon commence on the creation of six new waterfront schemes across the three Senatorial Districts of the State. The Commissioner made the disclosure during the annual Press Briefing of his Ministry in commemoration of the 2nd year in office of Governor Babajide Sanwo- Olu. According to the Commissioner, the Ministry has obtained approval for preparatory work to commence on the creation of six new waterfront schemes at Idogun in Ibeju- Lekki LGA, Lepia also in ibeju-Lekki LGA, Alayande- Sangotedo in Eti- Osa LGA and Owode – Apa in Badagry LGA, Others are Akodo in Ibeju-Lekki LCDA and Ibeshe in Ikorodu LGA. The Commissioner also added that the State Government continued to work on its ongoing Man made estates at the following locations during the period under review. This includes Eko Atlantic city, Green Field Island, where reclamation and provision of infrastructure on additional 100 Hectares of land under Public Private Partnership arrangement for creation of manmade islands is taking place at the northern end of Chevron Estate in Lekki, Eti- Osa LGA. Other Islands are King City Islands off north of Victoria Garden City (VGC), Ostia Island, FBT Coral Estate and Amuwo- Odofin Waterfront Scheme. |
