Super Eagles attacker, Moses Simon was nominated as one of Group B ‘players of the Round’ by CAF and the soft spoken player has expressed appreciation for the recognition.
According to the rating released by the Confederation of Africa Football, CAF, Simon had a 7.8 rating performance in the match against Guinea which qualified him to be included in the ‘Player of the Round’ nomination.
Speaking exclusively with www.theajasanews.com, Simon says the nomination will only spur him into putting in more solid performances for the Nigeria Super Eagles.
“I am really happy with the nomination and it will only make me to do more. The fact is that it is not about me, it is about the whole team and the goal is to go all the way to winning the cup,”
Moses Simon however admitted that it was not so easy in his first match against Guinea at the ongoing Africa cup of Nation but expressed happiness that he was able to come out good at last in the match even to the extent of making the nomination.
Meanwhile, Moses Simon was not the only Nigerian player that made the list. Super Eagles Defender, Kenneth Omerou also made the nomination with the highest performance rating of the Round scoring an 8.9 rating, while Etebo, the other Nigeria in the list had a 7.9 rating.
While the Super Eagles had only three players making the list, Nigeria next opponent Madagascar had six of their players in the Team of the Round while Guinea made up the remaining list with only two players
