Levante FC of Spain dazzling players, Moses Simon did not need to play the whole ninety minutes to make an impact in the Super Eagles 3-1 win against Seychelles in the team last Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Kaduna born player needed just three minutes on the pitch to register the team third goal in the dying minute of the match that most of the players struggled to be at their best.
Super Eagles first goal came in the first half through China based Odion Ighalo through a penalty kick but the goal was quickly cancelled out by the Seychelles attacker courtesy of Super Eagles goal keeper, Francis Uzoho blunder.
The Eagles second goal came in the second half through Henry Oyekuru and every effort to score the assurance goal became so difficult until Moses Simon was brought in few minutes to the end of the match.
Moses who had not enjoyed regular playing time recently with the Super Eagles proved he still had a lot to offer when he dribbled his way through the left wing before unleashing a shot that beat the Seychelles goalkeeper who had before then had a very good game.
Speaking with theajasanews.com after the encounter, Moses expressed joy for the goal saying also that he is happy contributing his quota to the team victory.
“I want to thank God for helping me to score in the match. And I also want to thank the coach who had faith in me to call upon me to play in the match. The job is for us to do our best to help the team and that is our ultimate goal,” he said.
