The president of the National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers, NANPF, Tijani Babanginda was among the several dignitories that graced the official launch of current Super Eagles star, Moses Simon football academy in Kaduna.
The launching took place at the Ribadu football Pitch, NDA quarters where incidentally Moses Simon began his football lessons as a kid.
Other football dignitaries who made it to the launch include coach Imama Amapakabo, assistant coach of Super Eagles, coach Bala Nikkiu, head coach of Nassarawa United, Solomon Babagaya the team manager of Nassarawa United, Austin Popo secretary of the players union and FIFA barged referee Patrick Ishaya,
Speaking with www.theajasanews.com at the venue, Moses explained the reason for enbarking on the journey,
“I want to give back to the society. Remember this is where I started from and so there’s every need for me to give back to the society that made me who I am today. It is my absolute joy and privilege to see the fans turn out en masse to witness the official launch of Simon Ben Academy. I want to thank everyone who came out today. Honestly speaking I can’t thank everyone enough. All I can do is I wish them the safest journey back to their respective destinations,
“Joshua Obaje was a player I was actually looking up to while growing up, today he was part of the players who played against my Academy. The Obaje brothers Joshua and Godwin were in attendance, Benjamin Francis and a lot of NPFL stars and I must thank them all for coming.” He said.
