…As Pillars, Tornadoes clash in Kaduna
Defending champions of the Nigeria Football Federation Cup Rangers International fc of Enugu today returned the Trophy they won last year to the glasshouse headquarters of the NFF even as the battle between Kano Pillars fc and Niger Tornadoes fc at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna takes the centre stage on Wednesday next week.
The Flying Antelopes through their Team Manager Barrister Amaobi Ezeaku brought the trophy donated by the sponsors to the NFF to signify the federation’s preparedness to organise the final of this year’s edition.
Rangers competed in the CAF Confederation Cup last season and were eliminated in the group stage.
The Enugu state owned club also qualified to represent the country in same competition courtesy of finishing third in the LMC Premier League playoff behind winners Enyimba International of Aba and Kano Pillars.
The club which parted ways with their Coach Gbenga Ogunbote has begun registration for the continental engagement in order to beat CAF deadline.
Meanwhile, the women federation Cup Champions Rivers Angels Fc of Port Harcourt are expected to return the trophy to the NFF before proceeding to Kaduna where they will clash with Nasarawa Amazon in this year’s final
