President of the National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers, NANPF, Tijani Babaginda has declared unequivocally that the Association will no longer be ready to come to the aid of players who are not registered with them.
Speaking exclusively with www.theajasanews.com[1], Babaginda noted that the era has gone when the Association would jump into issues and challenges confronting players even when they are not registered with them, charging all Nigeria professional footballers to contact the secretariat of the association on the modalities for registration.
The former Super Eagles dazzling winger noted that the Association is moving to a higher dimension where they are planning to capture the data base of every Nigeria player so as to enable them keep tab on their plights and performances.
He stressed that NANPF is now fully equipped and capable of defending any Nigeria player fully registered with us.
“I want to tell you that NANPF is capable of defending any of our players against any injustice. We are very much aware of the several injustices our players have been subjected to by their various club, and we are now ready to engage these clubs.
“We have been speaking with the clubs with a view to addressing most of those injustices, and we are also discussing with the League managers to see how these clubs would be made to respect the player’s rights as enshrined in their contract papers.
“Most of these players have been made to go through very harrowing experience by their clubs, with fragrant abuse of their contracts and agreements, and nobody seem to be speaking for them. This is the reason we exist, and we will no longer take that. But the players themselves must show commitment and endevour to register with the Association, Tijani Babaginda said.
