The four Nigeria National league, NNL clubs that recently gained promotion to the Nigeria Premier League have been exempted from commencing their NPFL matches this weekend.

This was part of the decision reached at Friday’ meeting of the Nigeria premier league annual general meeting which took place in Abuja.

According to the former Chairman of the League management company, Nduka Irabor, he said the four clubs, Gombe United, Kada City, Bendel Issuance and Remo Stars were given the exemption to afford them enough time to recover from the hectic schedule of participating in the just concluded Super 8 competition in Aba.

He noted that their issue came up for discussion during the AGM and it was agreed for fairness sake that the newly promoted be exempted from the first two matches of the league.

He also stated that during the two weeks the four team would carry out their registration for the new season.

Meanwhile, the AGM agreed for the 2018-2019 premier league season to begin this weekend with the remaining twenty other clubs.
