Operation Fasan Yamma, an Operation, under the auspices of operation Hadarin Daji, is making an impressive success in fighting against terrorism and banditry in the Northwest Zone of the country.
This was disclosed by Brigadier General N.N. Orok, Chief of Staff, Joint Task Force Operation Fasan Yamma, as he welcomed the defense correspondents from Defense headquarters Abuja who were led by Group Captain A.I. Bukar of the Directorate of Defence Media Operations on a visit to assess the successes recorded in the theater at the operation’s head quarters Gusau Zamfara State.

Highlighted the operation’s notable achievement, Which include the neutralisation of 222 terrorists, the arrest of 285, the rescue of 608 kidnapped victims and the recovery of
159 assorted weapons, 2,701 rounds of ammunition, 4,439 livestock from the criminal group.
Speaking on the threats posed by the bandits in the zone, He noted that
One of the emerging concerns is the new terrorist group Lakurawa, which was initially formed as a community-based force to combat banditry but later transformed into a terrorist group. However, the Theatre Commander ensured that military operations were already in place to neutralize group.
Lt Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Media Coordinator for Operation Fasan Yamma at the end of the briefing commended the Defence Correspondents for the visit and for support in reporting the military operational activities noting that the role of the media in maintaining public awareness can never be overemphasized.
