Former Malmo star striker Peter Ijeh has revealed why he did not spend much time with the Super Eagles alleging that he was asked to give bribe for him to play regularly in the national team.

Ijeh disclosed this while appearing in a National television in Lagos.

Ijeh scored 130 goals in 263 matches playing for several top clubs like Malmo and IFK Goteborg in Sweden and Viking of Norway. However, he only won an international cap for Nigeria in 2002.

“I declined to give money for me to play for the Super Eagles because I didn’t want to sell my dignity,” Ijeh told TVC Friday.

“That was why it was not the best players who played for the national team.

“It was either you belong or you were shut out. “So, I went back to my club and made sure I was the best there.”
