Dear Senator David Nweze Umahi,

With due respect, your statement is disappointing. Amasiri and Amangwu – Edda have never had issues. The long-standing tensions have always involved Amasiri, Oso and Okporo Ujo. Twisting the narrative does not bring peace; it only deepens wounds.

You say you support the Governor and that he has acted without bias. But as a former Governor and now a national figure, you know that leadership is measured not by words, but by consistency.

When Izzi and Effium clashed, death toll was in thousands, where were the soldiers? When Izzi and Ikwo fought, death toll still in thousands, why was there no similar show of force? Why was the response different then? This is double standards. Neither schools, markets nor hospitals were shut down. Not even police were detailed there.

Are you comfortable with the loss of lives in Amasiri? With the carnage? With families mourning their loved ones? Because from the tone of your statement, it appears more like political alignment than fatherly intervention.

You are supposed to be a father to all in Ebonyi State. A father does not take sides. A father does not dismiss the cries of one child while praising the other. A father demands justice — openly, firmly, and without bias.

No one is asking for escalation. We are asking for fairness. We are asking for equal protection under the law. We are asking that the same standard applied elsewhere be applied here.

The Land that the Army Training Depot is sited in Amasiri, was never in dispute or contention. Sir It was not your administration that mapped out the land for the Army rather it was the administration of former Governor Martin Elechi.

Sen David Umahi, please Sir, stop misleading the public about the ownership of the land at Amasiri, where the Army Training Depot is located had never been in contention.

The Ebonyi State Government is yet to pay compensation for economic trees on the land to the People of Amasiri. You are supposed to be a father to all. Stop twisting facts.

A Governor’s primary duty is to protect lives and property — all lives and property — without preference, without politics, without selective strength.

This is not the time for image protection. It is a time for accountability, transparency, and genuine reconciliation.

Dear Sen Umahi, the military training depot is not on disputed land. Many people erroneously assumed that. Please it’s not on disputed land, crosscheck the facts.

Rather, we have a situation where a Federal Highway in Oso has become a killing field of Amasiri people, as they were routinely stopped and abducted by Edda people and never seen again. Piles of petitions have been submitted to the Ebonyi state government, on the case of missing persons from Amasiri. Not once has anyone looked into this. The time to correct all of this, is Now.

History will not remember press statements. It will remember who stood for justice when it mattered most.

Amasiri people deserve better. The World is watching as a governor has made a Clan bleed for 3 weeks unleashed terror on a people, a silent open genocide in disguise.
