Enugu state honorable commissioner for Youth and Sports, Vitus Okechi has charged players of seven time Nigeria league champions, Rangers International F.C to go for a comprehensive win in the second leg,
playoff round of Total/CAF Confederation cup 2019/2020 encounter against visiting Togolese league champions, A.S.C.K.

The youthful commissioner gave this charge Wednesday, inside the main bowl of Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, after Rangers’ first training since returning from Lome where it narrowly lost the first leg by a 2-1
score line.

Okechi, who was in the stands of Stade de Kegue, Lome over the weekend, said that the team he saw lose in Lome did enough to earn a draw in the match but for the last minute loss of concentration that gifted Yendoutie Richard Nane with the opportunity to drill in the winning goal.

“This weekend’ match is a must win. Enugu state government is solidly behind your quest to emerge champions in all the competitions you will be challenging for. I know you have what it takes to become champions.
You displayed some of it in Lome and I urge you to dig deep and come up with the winning formula. The team we lost to in Lome can’t stop us from progressing in the competition,” Okechi said.

Recall that the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Rangers International lost the first leg of the playoff round 2-1 to A.S.C.K of Togo and must win with at least a lone goal to pick one of the sixteen group stage tickets for the second tier continental club competition.

The return leg is scheduled for Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, ‘The Cathedral’, on Sunday, November 3, 2019, with kickoff fixed for 4.00pm.
